About the Rockstar Dinosaur Pirate Princess

When I was 5 years old I wanted to be a Rockstar Dinosaur Pirate Princess when I grew up. I was nearly one of those, and 1 out of 4 ain’t bad for such lofty ambitions.

This blog started off being about The List, but I suspect it may have wild tangential adventures because while I love a good list my brain works in spirals. I may also post some ‘greatest hits’ from old long neglected online journals – posts I’m proud of, rants that changed the way I thought, and general writings that niggled in my brain until they were written.

The List

  • Learn to sew. Start with cushions, end up with dresses
  • Learn Sign language
  • No drinking for 3 months – re-evaluate on 1st April whether I want to stay off booze for a further 3 months
  • Start writing again – and document my attempts to do all of the above

Welcome to my world. There might be monsters. There will probably be lists. There almost certainly won’t be much of a theme. There will definitely be chocolate.

  1. Really enjoyed reading that, thanks. I hope it gets passed around. I’d love to look at the cartoon strip about the comments but it’s just too small to read. Any chance of a bigger version?

  2. Would you mind if I read your piece on consent and tea drinking at our International Women’s Day event ‘Celebrate Eve’? Giving full credit, of course. It’s March 7, so please get back to me asap. Have only just seen, it’s great.

  3. Amazing analogy on tea consent; I work for a uk based feminist theatre company (OvaryActing) and is there any way I could get your consent (linking it all back eh?) to use that analogy in a sketch for our upcoming show? We are unable to pay you a fee but would be more than happy to give all credits to you and feature your blog and social media details in marketing information. Let us know! xx

  4. This blog is freaking incredible. I came for the tea, and stayed for the other, like, seven posts I’ve just binge-read. Don’t stop. You da bomb.

  5. Hello! I also really loved your consent as tea post. I am also a writer, I write plays (rachelbublitz.com) and I’m wondering if you would give me permission to adapt it into a ten minute play. Email me (Rnbublitz@gmail.com) if you’re interested and we can talk some more. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts!

  6. Whatever you do, don’t become that dinosaur just yet, before you know it you will have turned into a fossil and we would not want that, now, would we? I read something about chocolate, yes, please. Keep on blogging in a free world – The False Prophet

  7. Could you also add: If you are drunk when you offer and administer the tea and the person is upset/hurt as a result, you are still responsible? Thank you, this is definitely being discussed in our campus!

  8. I love this and wish would be shown in all middle and high schools. First barrier: two fucks. Not that kids haven’t heard it before but it wouldn’t be tolerated in a lesson. Too bad because this short video is super clear and effective. Maybe a fuck-free version for schools?

  9. I absolutely LOVED your Tea video and shared it on my FB page. I’d love a shirt that just says “Unconscious people don’t want tea” maybe with a pic of the stick figure from your video. Do you sell these? It would be awesome. IF not, would you mind if I had one made for myself, giving the artists credit, of course?

      1. Thank you! so much! My friend owns a t-shirt company that does retail and fundraising T’s and he has no minimum so he’d be willing to make me one for me only and not sell them to others.
        :-)

  10. Dear Rockstar Dinosaur Princess Pirate,

I love your blog and find it really inspirational. For this reason I have nominated you for an Annual Bloggers Bash Award.

    Good luck!

    Paula.
